Are there any rare/valuable cold steel knives?

Don't see many of these around, the original Urban Pal Push Dagger with the original keyring leather sheath.

Arc-Angels..... Those the only one I can think of..... But thats because its a really nice balisong, with solid barstock Ti handles. Not like the cast Ti handles that BM does.

The Black Sable seems to be a bit rare but it's still available in some online stores. It was expensive when CS was producing it. It goes for around $300 in places that still sell it.

That's what I was gonna say. Older versions of knives they still make are sometimes hard to find. Different steels or places of manufacture, etc.

Some of the Carbon V-bladed knives now go for (much) more than their original retail. But most models were on the market for a long time, and sold in such numbers that they will never become rare, whereas some other brands sometimes create small runs of certain models, instantly making them a collectable.

I would say much of the earlier stuff is quite desirable now. Particularly the push daggers and the Carbon V Trailmasters and the like.

The older Japanese stuff. The Urban Pal, Urban Shiv, etc.... The Shaft spear head, prototypes, butterflies, and very limited editions(Imperial Tanto, etc.....) all sell decently to collectors.

Cold Steel was hotter in the mid -late 90's though.

As Rangerover mentioned, the Arc Angels are quite valuable as collector's items nowadays. I really wish I'd picked a couple up back when I had the chance. I remember seeing them on closeout for $75 or something ridiculous a few years back. I think they're going for around $300 now.

I think eventually all of the Camillus-made Cold Steels will become somewhat desirable/ collectible, especially the Carbon-V stuff. They certainly won't be getting any cheaper. It will take several years before the prices start going up appreciably. Eventually, nostalgia will kick in, and items that have long-since been discontinued will be scarce.

I recall a batch of around 10 Cold steel trailmasters that were Seki made in Aus 10 steel as a test run and sold for $300 something dollars each back in the 90's.

Now that would be a rare Cold steel knife.
