Just wondering if anybody has one.

I have heard they exist, but I don't recall seeing one.

Tin Sue the Aggie asked this question once and I don't see that he got a for sure answer from anybody.

(?)

I'm not sure about 112's . If any had a double dash or not . I've not seen that discussed in Joe's writings either . I'm hoping if someone knows they will chime in over this weekend . DM

I had a thread I started a while back about a beat-up 112 I got off the bay. I sent it to Buck and had the spa treatment and a re-blade. It was a -112- but it isn't anymore. Hope you didn't mean 112--

Edbeau, so do you have any pics of the marking on the blade showing the -112-??? If so post some pics, Please... Thanks ... ITE ...

Ite, I didn't take a picture of the blade opened from that side. Sorry, but you can see one of the dashes in the picture I posted and in my knife ledger I wrote that it was a -112- that I bought.

Edbeau, I'm not saying it's not a -112-... I would just like to see the blade marking on it... I've never seen one... Maybe some one else has some pics of one that they can share with us... Please... I have two -110-... I got one from I4Bucks in a trade and one in a small collection, I got... ITE

Looks like Edbeau had one.....pictures would be good, though. That's kind of the way it has been for me with this one.......kinda like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster. Sightings reported, but I never actually get to see one myself.

So.......on with it!!! Somebody must have one.

:)

"Had" is the problem and I looked at the other pictures and I am not sure why I had a couple of the other side of the blade while open.

I sure hope we can get a Double Dash 112 for the Sunday Picture Show!!

Or is it truly a mythical beast?

:)

Since I have never seen one of these.....

This thought struck me the other day.

The 110 and 112 are similar, but they ARE two different knives.

Why would the 112 necessarily mirror a design change in the 110???

No reason.

Let's get this up where Joe or somebody from Buck can see it and maybe we can get a definitive answer.

:)

This was Joe H.s post from January 2007:
110 Folding hunter 1992 double dash

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 1992 the date code on our blade stamps was a dash, just after the model number. BUCK, 110-, U.S.A.
As many of our loyal forum members know, later in 1992 a second dash was added to the 110. BUCK, -110-, U.S.A.
Our engineering group gave me the explanation as to why the second dash was added. Apparantly, there was a design change in the blade radius area that warranted the stamp code change.
The goal of this design change was two fold. Make the action smoother, and eliminate an opertation in the shop. It was not a very noticeable change to the naked eye. I compared a 1994 110 blade to a 4 dot i just happened to have on my desk and any diferences were hard to see but they are there.
So there you have it, mystery solved!

Scott, thanks.

I'm not seeing anything about the 112 there.

JOE!! Are you out there?

:)

Well, just guessing from Joe's quote:
Apparantly, there was a design change in the blade radius area that warranted the stamp code change.
I'm thinking that the blade radius area was part of the 110...but does the 112 contain the same blade radius area? I don't know...anyone know for sure what part of the blade is the blade radius area???
Is it the rounded end with the notch, for the rocker bar to lock in when opened??

I think we all know they made some kind of change to the 110 blade radius area and that's why we find them with the double dash marks... But the question is, did they make a -112- Blade two??? And if so does anyone have a picture of one for we can all see it... Thanks... ITE ...

Joe must be on vacation.

I sent him an e-mail, so I think we will eventually get an answer.

Still looking for pics or answers or theories even......from others.
