Hey all, I'm fairly new to knife collecting and have been buying more and more blades lately. I was wondering if there are specific times of year when you get good discounts on knives or if its totally random. I'm referring to the way stores do black friday/cyber monday sales, and many stores will do sales on TVs around the Super Bowl etc. Just wondering if there are any regular circumstances like that that I should plan for. Thanks.

Man, I wish they had black friday sales on knives, buy a CRK 21 for $200! But that's never going to happen. Sales really happen at random and its up to the dealers whether they want to have a sale or not.

Black Friday.
Week after Xmas getting rid of stock left over.
Memorial day.
Fathers day.
July 4th.
Labor day.
We are moving to our new location day.

You can occasionally find real sale prices but most of the bigger, more popular stores around here with us BF members don't have that high a margin as it is selling online mostly. We've already found the cheapest prices & best service. I look at prices there where I shop and at local stores and see why most eventually end up leaving or going out of business. Some brands like Striders and CRK's, Busse, don't really go on sale and have different ways to keep interest up. Different steels, grip materials, colors etc. If you ever do fine real going out of business deals grab them up. They are rare.

Knifecenter has sales every month, but...no way of knowing what will be on sale any given month, or if it will be something that interests you. Buck does the same at their website, and I believe BladeHQ does too.

The majority of the best price web stores have prices that are always lower then those who claim to support Father's, Veterans, Independence Day, Xmas, Chanukah, Mother's Day, Gay Pride Day, Castro Street Goat Rope Free For All, or whatever....this latter group of "supporters" :rolleyes:will offer 5% or 10% off on any given "holiday", but even at 10% off, their prices are easily 15% higher then the best web shops who don't offer "specials"...their prices are already the best.;)
