Are there TWO Pink Leeks?

Different steel. The 13C26 is the newer model. Wouldn't surprise me if NGK has the wrong description. 440A was replaced by Sandvik 13C26 in 2007.

Older Leeks had 440A steel. Newer Leeks are made with Sandvik 13C26. Other than that, I'm pretty sure there's no difference. The colors look different in the pictures, but I'm sure that's just from different lighting.

On a side note, when I was little, I was chewing on a red Bic pen, and it exploded in my mouth and I swallowed some. A few hours later...well, you can guess the rest.

I see what you're confused about now. I think NG has it incorrect. The pink model is indeed a linerlock, not a framelock.

Basically put, all the stainless handled (and titanum) Leeks are framelocks, and any aluminum ones are linerlocks.

That's what I feared, i mean no way aluminum can be elastic like titanium or steel. Bummer. Wanted a pink framelock assisted opener.

:D Spray paint a regular leek's handles maybe?
(I wasn't being serious, but if your desperate enough it may work.)

The liner is steel, not aluminum. Only the handles are aluminum.

Yeah, i figured that. Has to be a frame lock with ass. opening. Rainbow is kinda similar in looks, I guess.

Do Leeks have a small flipper?

I'm not sure what the coating/anodizing on the Pink Leek is, but I know from ownership that the Rainbow Leek's finish is very tough. The one I had was the most expensive knife I'd owned for many years (previously owning cheaper Kershaws or CRKTs), and I used the hell out of it before giving it to a friend. The finish held up way better than the edge did, with lots of resharpening to the soft 440A blade wearing it quite a bit..

The other cool thing about the rainbow coated knives is that every single one is unique. The process involved makes a similar coloring, but no two are identical.

Except for the type of lock and handle/liner materials, all the Leeks have identical blades (except the Random Leek of course), and identically shaped handles.

The flipper isn't huge, but it isn't difficult to engage either. I never accidentally engaged the flipper when putting my hand into my pocket for other things (pen, cellphone), nor did I ever wish it was larger.

If you're looking for a non-threatening looking knife, or perhaps one to be carried by the fairer sex, I'd go with the rainbow coated one. Tougher finish, and stronger lock.
