There are several CRK collaborations out there on the market, the Wilson version of the Umnumzaan and a Green Beret style knife out there to name two. There are several Bill Harsey/Chris Reeve collaborations out there as well. Are these knives produced in house at CRK, or are they farmed out elsewhere? Some have caught my eye as cheaper versions of some of the CRK labeled products.

They are all produced in house

All Wilson Tactical doe's is put it on there shelf after CRK mails it to them

I asked that question to CRK & Wilson before I bought mine............

I recalll that the Wilson combat version of the Zaan is in fact made at the CRK factory. However, their colab folder " Razionale" is made in Italy by another manf.

Taking from their site for the Razionale:
"An idea evolved for Bill and Chris to design a knife that would be manufactured in Maniago, Italy by Fantoni srl."

I would say the collaboration knives are every bit as well made as the Chris Reeve specific knives. I've handled a few and don't believe that Chris Reeve would put his name on them if they were "cheaper" (not sure if you mean quality or price?) than his own knives. As for the Wilson knife you mentioned, I believe it's $20-$30 more than the regular Umnumzaan, so they are not "cheaper" in either regard. Just my two cents.

I believe this knife, the Razionale, is still inspected at the CRK shop before it ever see's the hands of a buyer. Again- if it's got Chris Reeve's name on it, I'd bet it's the same level of quality you'd expect from CRK.

All the knives under the CRK name are made in-house with the exception of the Razionale that is made in Italy.
