Are Wal-Mart knife prices comparable to internet prices?

It depends.

Right now, Wal Mart carries the pyderco Native for 40 bucks and the Buck 110 (in a collectors tin) for 22 bucks. Those prices are very good compared to online.

However, I just got a Kershaw Leek at WalMart for 45 bucks, and that is a bit higher than online.

You also have to factor in shipping and wait-time. I like knife shopping at WalMart because I get instant gratification, and get to try the knife out before I buy.

WalMart is much cheaper than the knife stores near me. Though you may be lucky enough to live near a knife store with good prices.

When you buy a name-brand knife at WalMart, you are either getting a good deal, or a great deal. Some of their deals are amazing (110, Native), and some are just pretty good (119, Nighthawk, Leek, Chive, SAKs, Rush etc...). But they won't rip you off.

Sorry if I sound like a WalMart fanboy, but where I live it is my best in-person option and usually about as cheap as the internet.

But if you want the lowest LOWEST price and are willing to wait for it to arrive, you can *usually* find it cheaper online.

Yeah, it just depends. They used to be very high on OldTimer prices, but currently have excellent deals on the Buck 110 and Spyderco.

It does pay to shop around!

Have you noticed that Wal-Mart's prices on GPSes are sky-high?
