I have noticed a lot of immaturity here lately. Some need to get off "edge" and realize everyone has different ideas, techniques, and opinions. Hell, a lot of ppl on here have absolutely no idea what there talking about and let on like they do. There are a lot of generous good ppl on here also. I've come to enjoy talking to many of you. But it's becoming a bit to much, more of a chore than enjoyable reading it seems. I'm considering getting rid of my app and going back to reading on Google again.

I almost past by without commenting, but.......

Are you sure you posted this in the subforum you meant to?
The Buck subforum is the nicest and friendliest place around :)

Check out the "whine and cheese" subforum, and you will see people who are really on "edge"!!!:eek::eek:

I couldn't agree more, Chris. Not only are Buck guys nice and friendly, they're also patient. Can't tell you how many times a same question is asked and the same people answer it over and over, in a friendly manner, rather than offend someone. You guys know who you are. You gentlemen have my sincere respect.

Everybody has an off day. You see folks post a question, not necessarily on this forum and they get replies like, "the search function is your friend". That's kind of crappy in my book. If you feel the question has been covered before and covered in depth then just don't reply to it. Let someone else go to "all that trouble".

By the same token, newer members show up and post without reading the rules, or overwhelm the board with rapid fire posts on every possible topic. Not good form IMHO but hey, it's nice to see folks passionate about the same things we are. Sometimes it's a good idea to take a step back and take a break or you end up with those situations where "it can't be me, everyone else is the problem" and feelings get hurt. In the end 99% of use are here for the same reasons, fellowship, fun, free flow of information and the love of Buck knives. After 15+ years on the internet I can't say I've found a nicer group and felt more welcome than I have in this forum on this site and I thank you all for providing me the opportunity to develop that feeling.

I guess this will qualify as an immature post to the OP, but: are you serious? How many forums (other sites) have you participated in?

The folks in the Buck forum here are probably as friendly as they get. And I say that out of experience. I've belonged to a number of forums on different topics regarding my vocation (SW development) and hobbies (shooting, woodworking? & now knife-collecting.). I belong to forums where you can glean a great deal of technical info, but you'd better be thick-skinned and have a great sense of humor.

Your comment about people not knowing what their talking about reminds me of my favorite bumper sticker:

"People who think they know it all really annoy those of us who do."

In other words, perhaps you should be more concerned with the accuracy if what YOU'RE posting that what others are.

I completely agree with the replies, I hope I only post when I have something worth saying. I have never received any negative "vibes" on this site even when it has been deserved. The experts hang out here and the information sharing is fantastic. I do visit other forums but when I want the "straight & skinny" here is where I go.

I don't get to visit the Forum as much as I used to, but, I have to say that I have meet and made lots of dear friendships amongst the Buckeroos who post here. You read something weird or off the wall now and then, but, I don't dwell on it. I've been a member of several different types of Forums and this is the only one I keep coming back to. I appreciate the knowledge available here, just for the asking.

I joined this forum quite a while ago and come here to learn about Bucks. I don't ever knock Buck knives because I never find fault with them. I have noticed over time that there ones that try to get people stirred up but I know what they are doing and do not respond. Sit back and enjoy looking at the knives people have and are proud of. Ask questions and if it has been asked before someone will post the thread and you will get your answer. Some of us collect different makes of knives and are on different parts of Blade Forum and that helps when someone is wondering if a knife was made by a different company. Sit back and enjoy the company of fellow Buck Knuts!

Was there a particular comment or thread that annoyed you? No need to give names or accuse someone. Just wonder what it was that got to you. Anyway, stick around. I think you'll find this a nice place to visit, in the balance.

I am sorry Buckman if you are unhappy with this forum, but you should speak with a moderator or administration about that. Please don't be negative on this forum that is all about Buck knives and our common interest in them. This is a good and courteous Forum of knowledgeable people who enjoy talking and sharing information about Buck knives. Those who come here appreciate the friendly atmosphere in which we can discuss Buck knives with a group of many who understand, love and like to talk about their Buck knives. Let's keep it that way.

Hey, everyday can't be a perfect day. If I had a nickel for every time I spoke out of turn, I wouldn't have to work for a living.
