Well due to the fact that the airports ar still shut down, and now with the ightening of security. What doyou guys think. Are we going to have trouble shipping our knives to customers in the United States and also abroad in other countries?????
This is a question that has been bugging me for a couple of days now. After all I went through this summer this was all I needed to keep my spirits up and everything going smooth in the shop.

Shouldn't have any effect on shipments because the ones that go by air are shipped cargo and unless explosives are involved cargo is not normally screened.

The current air embargo has tied up an express mail shipment that I am waiting for, I expect that in a few days it will show up after air flights resume.

I can only hope that this is the way things will go.I couldn't handle any more things messing with orders that I need to get to customers so I can start making a living again..
If it aint one thing it's another....

I've had no delays in service from incoming supplies by UPS ground this week. Everything arrived the day it was expected. In light of this week's events, I'm sure that your customers will understand that "air" shipments may be slow/unreliable and that you might opt for a standard "ground" service for a few weeks....besides, the ground services may save them a few bucks and cost them a day or so longer on the delivery. International shipments may be a different story...but I'm speculating here.

So, to recap...UPS "ground" has provided uninterupted service for me EVERY day this week....so far... I don't think you'll have any problems.

Best wishes on your sales!

Sincerely,
Rob

Bruce, there shouldn't be any effect.

I have a friend who is waiting for the airports to open so he can go hunting. He has to ship his gun, amo, knife, etc. they gave him special instructions, (gun and amo in different packages, and locked, knives are ok, just don't put it in the carry on.) but will let him ship all of it. Even with the new tightend security.

A little more info...
No more mail in commercial plane cargo. The airlines "used" to carry mail all the time. For the time being, UPS is ONLY shipping via ground. FedX is "grounded". I believe that we can expect mail to be just "a little bit" slower in the not so distant future.
