Are Winchester multitools any good?

I recently posted a question asking about Remington multitools which I made a mistake and had meant to put down Winchester. Just wondering if they are any good.
 
My first response would be no. It's China made and runs around $20. But, I've never tried one either. If you're just looking for something cheap to knock around with, then perhaps it'd be worth a shot, so when it breaks, you aren't out too much.

If your looking for more long term use, need to step up to a Leatherman, or Victorinox, for an increase in quality and durability.
 
I agree. I have a Winchester multitool -China junker. Get a Victorinox or Leatherman, I did and am quite satisfied with both although I tend to carry the SAK more frequently.

I ended up buying it for 8$ after running around all day looking for a leatherman for under 30. I Was looking for a sidekick or wingman, but couldn't find any for cheaper. I paid 8$ for it, and it's not too bad.
 
And sadly I just found out that Walmart sells a wingman for 27$ I still have enough cash, but the place I got the Winchester from is a no refunds store.
 
Thanks. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy the sidekick. That gives you a sheath fight?

The sidekick used to come with a leather pouch, but not sure if they still do, but to answer your question NO the sidekick or wingman do not come with a sheath. Both have a pocket clip though.
 
I have a Winchester multitool, I've had it for over a decade. It is... not great, but it served me pretty well for the most part. I just feel like you can't ask it to do hard work, or ever even think of using the wire cutters. But the little swappable bits have been useful.
 
As far as multitools go, its alright as long as you're not too rough on them. I got it as a gift back in '07, used it a lot, and its kicking in my car. I still bring it out when someone needs a MT with a good bit set (which is a very nice thing about the one I have)
That said, it can't hold a candle to my leatherman surge.
