The blue looks nice but I've been disappointed with the recent trend in WE knives.

Many new models that have:

Flat scales - chamfered but not 3D machined/ contoured
No internal milling
Standoffs instead of a backspacer
No milled recess for clip

It appears that WE omits these features to cut costs. Personally I'm less interested in a premium knife at a slightly lower cost. I want something special. I know they're still very well made. I wonder if other consumers feel the same as I do.

They are too much Civivi look-alikes!

While some internal milling would be nice, I like the simplicity of designs like the Beacon and Elementum. The Snick and Seer have a little more flair and are very nice knives. The lack of pouches on some of these has honestly been a bigger issue for me and that's not even the knife itself.

I've found myself carrying the Beacon more often. The gentle texture of the stone-washed scales feels good and I like how smooth it is in and out of pocket. I'm not in love with the little lines along the recessed portion but it's a minimal feature. It might be cool to get some custom work done to the Beacon.

Just don't forget about the people who've fallen in love with simpler designs like the Beacon. It's a great knife on its own. The simplicity is part of what makes it great. It also makes it a great platform for modification.

I've recently been looking at knives that would be good candidates to try different mods. I've literally looked over a couple thousand knives by searching BladeHQ by titanium handles and premium stainless steels under $250. The Beacon and Elementum are among the best candidates I could find.

I LOVE the blue - my favorite. I have basically bought every version and will be buying a blue Speedster on release. Keep up the blue please!
