I guess i am one of sorts.I have come to the conclusion that more than any thing I enjoy being out on a river in the Fall of the year. A friend from the lower 48 and I just returned from an incredible week long float down the Porcupine River. Other than a trapper netting salmon for his dog team and two native hunters we saw no one. I was hoping to shoot a caribou but their migration changed this year because of fires. There was wolf and grizzly sign everywhere. One night a pack of wolves made a kill less than half a mile from our camp and carried on howling into the next day. It is the conclusion of everyone we talked to that the moose population is down in this area because of the predators. It did not bother me at all we did not get any thing.I can shoot a moose around town.it is understandable that my Friend was disappointed after traveling all the way up here and not getting any thing.
When I dropped him off the airport was full of hunters returning home.
Even if I could afford to I do not think i would travel the world hunting animals that i was not going to eat.

"I am pro-choice: I choose to hunt, fish, trap, wear fur, and eat meat"

best damn bumper-sticker I ever saw. Wish I had one for myself.
Personally, I enjoy recreational fishing (i.e. I'm not a maniac about it), I turkey hunt in the spring and pheasant/squirrel/rabbit hunt in the fall. Someday I will probably go deer hunting with my brother.

If God intended for us to be vegetarians, why did he make all the animals out of meat?

Veg-I-tarian:Old indian word for bad hunter.
There's a place for all gods creatures...Next to the potatos and gravy.
There is a fine line between hunting and sitting there looking stupid.
Just a few thoughts on hunting.
Matt
