I recently put my sebenza up for sale, and I got a few offers here and there and people seemed to be interested in it. I hadn't used it in awhile, and I figured I could use some cash to blow on something new and exciting for Christmas.

Now I've had this particular knife for less than a year and its my first really good knife. (my next will be a shirogorov hopefully) But here's the thing I was so ready to sell it off, I forgot how much I really love the thing (Just cleaned it).

Whats that saying, outta sight outta mind.... Think it applies here, but its like its mine. And it can't be anyone else's because its mine. I'm its rightful owner you know...

Sounds kinda crazy IMO but its how it is.

Do you guys have this particular feeling with any of your knives?

We all go through it and some of us sell once the honeymoon is over. I think you'll regret it, but you may need to sell it to test whats most important.

I'm not really sure what you mean by "test whats more important."

If there is one of a like kind that you can replace it with, then you can always replace it. At least that is the way I look at it.

I'm not sure either. I'm doped up with some heavy duty med's and haven't made a whole lot of sense today. I'm guessing I meant to say that you'll see if you emotions to the knife are genuine or anxiety.

LOL thats among the top 3 funny things I've heard today. Hmm actually is that funny? Is it serious like "Oh no" or is it like "Hahaha I'm on drugs!" I don't want to offend is what I'm getting at...

Either way I think what I feel is genuine, its not the first time I've tried to sell it.

Hmm another one of those I'm not really sure what you mean but okay. Do you need a hug? :)

He meant you didn't offend, and it takes alot to offend him. If you need me to translate more from BBQ BOY just let me know:p
Just kidding with you.

Back on topic, yes I know how you feel. I've almost sold one just a few days ago, and backed out. Just couldn't do it, and then had to explain I had changed my mind:o
edit- it was someone looking for one. If I had listed it I would have went through with the sale.

I figured he was talking crazy due to copious amounts of drugs :p

I was right!!!!!!

But yea if someone actually said here is the money, can I have my knife please. I wouldn't refuse them ^O^

I only get attached to rare knives. Knives that are easy to get can come and go without much attachment at all...

I just sold 3 Sebenzas for extra funding for the holidays. It hurts... but I wasn't using them anyways. More room for the 25!

It's not unusual for me to create an ad on the exchange just to close the browser instead of hitting "post thread" several times for some of the knives I've sold. As Maprik said the ones that are REALLY hard to let go are the rare ones. I have a particular knife that is super rare that I like but don't love.... I keep contemplating about putting it up for sale but just couldn't get myself to do it.

i sold a small insingo a while back. i carried it consistently for over a year. it was my go to knife. i stopped carrying it for a while and hadnt carried it for about six months straight so i sold it. i kick myself for that. i really do miss it. we had some good times together.
