I know I'm probably gonna get flamed and possibly run off the forum for what comes to follow, but the envelope has been pushed off the edge of my side of the table, so I'm gonna vent here because I know you guys won't be as ass-holish as some other sub-forums because at the very least you try to understand where I'm coming from. On with the rant.

So a good portion of you know that I just got my Beckerhead number, and also know that I've been posting a sig with my BH# and a quote that applies to all Becker Heads if you think about it in the context of Beckers being a bad habit. after all my posts like a couple other users who frequent this forum, and several of you have gotten upset with me for doing so, regardless of what my plans were, but a couple of you stood up for me (Thank you Rogue). Anyhow, the reason this post is coming up is because those who got upset with me didn't, and still probably don't understand that I didn't want to give $10 to the site for a basic membership....

I wanted to give closer to $90-$100 to the site for no reason other than you guys have been more than helpful to me, with a gold or platinum membership being more like something to keep me coming back and posting, but I could not afford that until after the first week of summer, I work at Boy Scout summer camp and other than my pay checks from that, the only money I spend other than that is birthday money or some-such gift. Anyhow, I have seen a couple other users on here paste their signatures into their posts without anyone ragging on them for having a sig without having a paid membership, where as two of my threads asking legitimate questions turned into sig flames, and that pissed me off to say the least.

All I wanted was a stand in sig until I could upgrade to gold or platinum, it was not intended to last for ever, it was not intended for me to cheat the system forever with it, it was intended for me to show how happy I was to join the Becker Head ranks. So after my last thread asking a question about the BK 7 and Texas Hunt Co. sheaths turned into a sig flame thread, I decided to shut up the people that can't stand my wanting to show that I'm honored to be a part of such a functional community of people that think the same way I do, logically and emotionally, not politically.

Anyhow, for those of you that insisted I pay for what others haven't I hope your happy. I guess my rant is over, if a mod decides this is totally inappropriate I will blank this out without question, but I needed to vent this to a group that know what I mean.

I think sigs should be reserved for paying members, one of the many perks you get with supporting the site.

I see some non-paying members with sigs so big you can't even read what they posted.

Ok man I read through your last post, what I got out of it was honorable on your part by wanting to contribute more. There are different levels for a reason. Just because you are the lowest level of payment doesn't mean you didn't do your part. It's quite the opposite you are a PAYING member now and no one can take that from you man. I'm military and I'm well aware of stupid rules that make no sense to ME but they are there for a reason. There is other options to what you could have done to show your pride of being a BeckerHead, you could have just put your number in your "location" or anything. You broke a rule and of course the mods have to enforce that rule. It's not directly at you. Yes I'm sure other people do it, but none of that matters now because you are a paying member now! F#ck it man don't let some typed words get you down, keep posting, learning, and growing. This site is full of info and things to learn. Have a good one man.

I've seen a lot of people do this. There are far worse things you can do than put a sig in your posts, however. Nothin I personally would fret about.

I didn't go gold (platinum when it runs out) for the sig line or the avatar; I did it for the site (and to sell stuff ). Good to see you pony up some $$$, though. :thumbup:

To answer the OP title, Yes, I am. What you did for your sig makes no difference to me. You earned your BH# and can do with it whatever you want. I only made the statement as a suggestion, if you had some extra scratch laying around.

I'm afraid this post is going to stir up more trouble than you intended to, so, I'm going to close it.
