One of my friends came into town to do some work a few days ago and stayed over at my place.
He wasn't feeling too secure about leaving equipment in the back of his pickup in the parking lot of the apartments, so I made sure to leave the window open so that he could hear if anyone was unloading his machine, and got him an axe handle so he could beat off vandals.
Sure enough at 11.00PM the usual racket started and he leaped out onto the balcony - to see our latest bear beating the heck out of the dumpster and swatting it around the parking lot trying to get it open since we secure the lids with rods.
Strangely after seeing our thief/vandal in action thoughts of chasing him off just evaporated with sounds of ripping metal as the crittur bent the lids again.

Few (human) vandals or thieves here - in fact no one bothers our parking lot at night..

If that doesn't appeal to your sense of humour - police here are wondering what to do about a guy in the next street who hates cats. He's lured an eagle into sitting in the bush at the end of his garden. He feeds it meat. Naturally the eagle grabs a few cat snacks between regular feedings. Apparently it's still not il-eagle to feed birds.

I think most people in town here like wildlife to come visit. Well we did spend over $100,000 to put a fence around the dump so they'd eat elsewhere..

Oh well - hope it cheered your day..
