i don't currently own any safe queens.

my custom user list, not including "mid techs":

demko (ad10 i think)
ddc sng
darrel ralph (2)
begg civilian glimpse

i voted #3, but i have never encountered a situation where prying was necessary and i didn't have some sort of other tool to use.

I don't use my Demko, but that's just because it hasn't arrived yet. :D The only custom folder I have at the moment is a Bob T with titanium scales and a titanium liner lock, but that one hasn't seen any pocket time due to competition from other Ti knives (Umnumzaan, Alias 1, Sage 2).

yehp, i don't have a custom but with that much invested i can see finding the right tool for the job would make alot of sense. I should have put another choice or 2 into the poll, but too late now.

no, its fine, i just needed to qualify my vote a bit.

i didn't intend to spout rhetoric about "right tool for the job", since in my line of work finding the right tool in that moment may not be a practical possibility. i just have not yet encountered that situation.

I voted 3, but I haven't done any prying either. Slammed the tip into a wooden pallet perhaps, but not prying:thumbdn:.

Also diced up a pineapple(Maui Gold) with my Sebenza as well:thumbup:.

Actually I believe that's just the standard silver contrast. I wanted the reverse contrast, but since I bought the knife used as a large 21 with the bead blast finish, I assume altering the finish would remove too much titanium and mess with the fit and finish. Still, it's a real beauty.

The titanium scuffs pretty easily, so it might have been better off as a safe queen, but the ergonomics on it is nothing short of perfect for me and just begs to be used.

I voted #3 but I don't really pry with my knives. I really haven't had a chance to put my Demko to the test though.

Kinda makes you wonder why you sunk so much money into a hard-use knife with one of the strongest locks right:D?

I voted #4. I use the living dog feces out of my Demko. I might torch color the Ti sometime soon.

this is kinda why I started this thread, I welcome all shakedown reports on these customs, if you don't push the envelope how do you know what is inside it?

And MORIMOTOM, I hope you either discover your envelope or never need to find it out at a critical few seconds of time, I guess you have that aspect covered as you are a professional LEO but still.

i haven't had any prying emergencies, ie, if i didn't pry immediately, someone would die.

hopefully my shop isn't too far away. ive got a bunch of prybars and bolt cutters in a bag ready to go in the trunk.

I voted number 2,but its more like option 3 without the 'prying'.

What he said. Loving the heck out of my Yuna zombie slayer and it gets lots of pocket time and use. I won't pry with a $600 knife when I can grab a $6 pry bar to do the job. :)
