Well Rotte - the wait is over. Sorry it took so long. You set the ball in motion over a year ago - and between my design taking so long, Andy's speedy grinding, our testing and small changes, and a few other dozen things - your knife and sheath is finally done.

I hope it was worth the wait - she goes out tomorrow.

Thanks for a great ride. It was great to get to know you a little over this project. I think things like this are so cool. I would have NEVER had the opportunity to work with you, Andy, and TonyM were it not for cool projects like this.

It looks like the sheath in the above picture has a little belly - it doesn't - some sort of optical delusion. The picture below shows that the lines are straight.

And a few glamour shots for you and Andy:

TF

Wow TF! That looks fantastic. Stitching looks impeccable. (Knife doesn't look bad either.) This was a seriously fun project and I'm glad you were able to get in on it. From the Arete users out there, it sounds like you came up with a wining design. I'm stoked to get my hands on it.

If the knife gets here in time, I plan on taking it on a fishing trip next week. (Not sure where that will be, either Big Horn Mnts or Yellowstone Park.)

Thanks for the finishing touch.

Just thinking that you have those two as options for a fishing trip makes me giddy.

Nice looking sheath Tal. Your work has become utterly professional.

Guys --

Arete and sheath arrived today. Outstanding package!

Not my first Fiddleback, but definitely my favorite. I love the rough finish Andy left on the blade and the grinds are impeccable. Handle ergos are excellent (Andy left it a little phat for me) and the micarata pins are very cool. Osage has shrunken a wee bit, but no worries there.

This is my first sheath from TF and it is absolutely top-shelf. Waterformed for a snug fit with fantastic stitching. The only thing I'd do differently is leave a little gap in the welt to allow for water to drain (after all it is a field knife ;)). Just superb craftsmanship.

Thanks guys, y'all made one heck of a nice package! I hope to get a few days in the woods next week, I'll take the Arete out and do a little review if all goes well.:thumbup:
