Is this forged and the maker? Spine thickness also would be nice., thanks and keepem sharp
 
it is forged, sorry I don't know the exact steel.
here is a pic of the makers mark and a pic in hand.
sorry the spine shot with the file work is not clearer.
the spine is 3/16" at the base and a strong distal taper to the point.
