Hi..Does anybody know where I can Purchase modern made Argentine Gaucho knoves?...as I recall Atlanta Cultery carried them a few years ago, but doesn't anymore...any info would be appreciated...Thanx...Turk

Knives '99 has a knifemaker's index that tells who is making what and in what price ranges. I've seen the work of Nestor Lorenzo Rho in there. He specializes in the Gaucho knife.
His address is:

Nestor Lorenzo Rho
Primera Junta 589,
Buenos Aires,
Argentina (0362) 32247

According to the bio info, his price ranges are from $60.00 to $300.00 and some to $1200.00. Hope this helps!

I don't know about new ones, but I see used ones all the time at knife & gun shows. I think I also saw one recently in a Northwest Knives catalogue ((800)611-8849 or www.nwknives.com ) Be aware that some of the handles are silver, while others are base metal.

You might want to contact Ivan Campos a Brazilian dealer and maker.

Nice guy too. Spent time with him and Flavio Ikoma at the Blade Show.

Ivan's email: campos@bitweb.com.br

He can probably help a lot. Good prices too.
