Okay I'm really pissed right now!

I just had to destroy what would have been a really beautiful knife. I don't know what the hell I did, I guess maybe I just shouldn't have been in the shop tonight. I kept making small mistakes and trying to fix them until I had reduced this great knife to an absolute mess!

It would have been a 10" knife with 416SS bolster and this piece of birch wood I found in my shop that was just gorgeous. It took me a half hour of picking through my wood to find the right piece and then I go and destroy the entire lot!

I've destroyed a couple of knives in the past but this one really hurt. It's now sitting in three pieces in a garbage bag. I guess it really hurts because it was a brand new design and I was eager to show a few people.

Anyhow sorry for the venting but I had to get it out.

Sounds like me except I made a good knife and i durability tested it on a huge rock a pry test and by the end it was bent and the edge was completely folded over but it was easyily repaired in a hour

After all that work and nice materials, too! Sorry to hear, guy! It was really a mother in law curse that did you in.

Ya it sucked but I'm much better now??? I think.

I hadn't wrecked a knife in a while, think I was getting some false sense that I could fix any mistake I made. Welcome back to reality!

Anyhow good to have a place to vent when ya need to.

Thanks,
Sean

I made a huge bowie for my father's birthday from some damascus I purchased. It cracked after the quench. I felt like throwing up. I must have had 40 hrs in the thing. It makes it all worthwhile when they come out right.
