If you are interested in the Combat Grade Argonne Assault with the 7.5 inch black coated blade, Larry Brahms at Bladeart (sales@bladeart.com) will be receiving the first shipments of these knives by early June. Get your order into him now if you would like one of these knives.

There will be two different versions of the Limited Edition or Signature Series (which are entirely done by Jerry Busse) one with Bead Blast and one Satin finished. Les Robertson at Robertson Custom Cutlery (customknives@comcast.net) will offer the Satin finished ones and we will sell directly the bead blast versions - both will have 9.5 inch blades.

Please note that Les will only have 20 of the Satin finished 9.5 inch AAs. Since they are so limited I recommend you contact him asap!

thanks to several requests, Jerry and I have talked about possibly building a California-legal Argonne Assault. The only difference between this knife and the current AAs is the lack of the knuckles.

The knives could be offered in either bead blast 9.5 Signature series OR combat grade 7.5 inch blade length. They would be the same price as the full knuckle version ($1197 and $797 resp.).

If you are interested in such a knife, please email asap. Based upon interest level we may produce a very limited run of these CA specials.

Let me know !

The CA special sounds interesting. Would it retain the finger notches or would there be a flat surface along the bottom of the handle? Also, considering the amount of INFI saved by doing away with the material intensive finger guards, would there be some cost savings realized as well?

I ask these questions because I love the blade shape of the AA but I feel the knuckle piece might be a bit clumsy and impractical. Also, since I'm more of a user than a collector, I'd be very interested in a less costly, more "user-friendly" version of this knife.

Wulf, while material costs are saved doing a CA legal AA, we actually have increased labor costs for shaping out the finger grooves in the micarta handles. Additionally, since the run will be so limited, the labor costs are now higher per knife.

Jerry will try to work one up by next week so we can post a pic of what the handles would actually look like.

Thanks for the heads up about the CA model. This is definatley something to look forward to seeing next week :)

Marc,
Thanks for the info. Looking forward to seeing all these side-by-side. That will be an impressive picture. :D:D

Strabs, maybe "option" really isn't the right word. It's not like you will have a choice whether or not to get it, your addiction has already decided that factor :D

I already sent in my "California Special" order too.

Is there some sort of INFI-methadone program I can sign up for? You know, where they send me half a dozen Cold Steels each week to break instead?
