The Argonne Assault is the official "Busse Twentieth Anniversary" knife, as many of you now know although the new Flying Mojo is part of this special Anniversary issue. These knives represent 20 years of Jerry Busse making the best extreme performance fixed blades in the industry. They are unique knives, not to be found anywhere else, and best of all, they are INFI ! We will shortly be posting pictures on this forum of all three knives, for now many of you may have seen the ad that is currently being run in Blade Magazine.

There will be two flavors of the Argonne Assault. First, there is the Combat Grade which will be 7.5 inches long and features a black coated blade. The Argonne Assault Signature Series will be a very limited run ground by Jerry himself and feature the new Busse Signature Series logo (which is reserved for Busse's made exclusively by Jerry). It will be a whopping 9.5 inches long and be available in either satin or bead blast finish.

The Assaults will start shipping in a little over two months. Inital units will go to Larry Brahms at Bladeart (sales@bladeart.com) for the Combat version and Les Robertson at Roberston Custom Cutlery (customknives@comcast.net) for the Signature Series. Price for the Combat Grade will be $797 and the price on the Signature series limited edition will be $1197. The Flying Mojo is $897 and can be ordered directly through me (marc@bussecombat.com).

These knives are sure to become collectors pieces in years to come !

Let me know if you have any questions.

I guess that knife that he found at his brother's house was a preview of what was to come :) When you use words like "very limited run" and "ground by Jerry himself" I can hear my bank account groan. Oh well, it will have to cope as I placed my order this morning for the AA CG! Hope everyone gets a whack at one of these.

-Jeff

P.S. My favorite part when I ordered was when I was asked "You just want one ???"

I think these three knives will no doubt be future Busse Collectibles. I missed out on many of the limited runs in the past and ended up paying in the end. I'm not missing out on this one. :D:D

<font size="+1"><b>9.5"</b></font>

Yeeeeesssss!!!!!! :D Thank the gods, another 9.5" Busse knife. Oh my Mistresses will soon have a friend :D

Will these be available only in a limited number or will they be limited by a certain period of time? How long will we have to get an order in (i.e. time to save up) thanks Contender

Looks like I'm going to miss out on the Argonne Assault since they are illegal (for civilians) to have in Kalifornia. :(

Fire Horse--

Why would the Argonne Assault be illegal in CA? I thought only automatics with blades longer than like an inch or 2 were the only blades illegal in CA. Why would a fixed blade of any kind be illegal? Am I missing something here?

Sad to hear that Ed:(
I assume it's the whole knuckle knives cause crime reasoning:rolleyes:

I imagine you'll be grabbing a FM signature model though, eh?:D

Fire Horse, if it isn't possible to buy while you're in CA, come on out to MD and bring all your Busses :)

As Strabs said it's the knuckle guard that makes it illegal. Brass knuckle are illegal, auto over 2" are illegal, butterfly knives are illegal, plastic knives (like the Stealth Hawk) are illegal. Kalifornia is the land of bleeding heart liberals. The only good thing about the Busse ad is that the FM shown (first one made) is mine.

So... Now that is has been a bit can you tell us how many of the Argonne Assault Signature Series Limited Editions will/have been made in Satin and Double Cut? How about a picture or two to hold us over?

So what if it is illegal,if I wanted it I would buy it.You most likely wont be carrying it,so why not just buy it and keep it in the safe? Its not like the police are gonna knock down your door and arrest you.

Which issue of blade is this in?? I have up to the August issue and the only ad I can find is for the Steel Heart fusion??

KX1A -- You'll have to look through last years Blade issues.
Contender started this thread over 14 months ago. Sorry.:grumpy:
I think there are pics over on badmojo.tv.

I dug this up from a year ago. Just wondering how many were or will be made. Please see the original posting date.

As to is it illegal? that is a question that I feel is not clear. The law is not clear and I have received positive feed back from 2 ADA's, 4 City cops, and 4 County cops (City and County share a station where I live.) The basic answer I've been getting is: "No it is not illegal in and of itself, but if you have this on you and are acting like a jerk we WILL screw with you!" that is no different than with any knife. This knife is not an impact weapon so the law would work like this... If you hit someone with the Knuckle Guard then you might have a problem. But just having a Knuckle Guard or as I like to look at it "An improved grip retention device" is not a problem. Look at the little jogging weights that have a metal guard to aid in gripping them and how many pairs of scissors have metal or plastic guards that could be used as an impact tool? It is the implementation of the Knuckle Guard in a conflict as a force multiplier that MIGHT get you in trouble not the simple possession of the device. A roll of quarters, Any knife handle, Any tool, Anything can meet the definition but because of its very broad nature it is impossible to prosecute someone under this law unless they have actually used the item in question or there is no legitimate use for the item other than as an impact weapon. Since this Knuckle Guard is used solely to aid in the grip and retention of the knife and as a safety device to avoid accidentally cutting ones own hand while using the knife for its intended use there is no problem.

I know the combat grades have shipped and some are in stock at bladeart.com

Has anyone recieved their LE Argonne? I haven't and I can hardly wait till she comes home:D The combat grade I've got misses her:(

Well, I too have a CG and we've all seen pictures of Marc's Magnum LE Argonne. I've heard that a few LE's have shipped and that some more will be shipping soon. I was hoping for a count on how many will be made and picture or two (even in process pictures would be cool).

Raden, I feel your pain. My CG's also miss their LE "partners in crime".:D
