Can anyone give some clarity on what the laws are in this state? I get differing answers when I talk to PD. Some say you cant at all, others say no one really cares, just disclose if you get pulled over, etc.

What are the laws about concealed carry in AZ

Thanks,

BG

There is a prohibition on carrying "deadly weapons" concealed with the exception of a "pocket knife." Note the word concealed. It is legal to carry just about anything openly, and Arizona is one of the few states in the US with no switchblade ban. It also, if I understand correctly, possible to get a concealed weapon permit that applies to knives.

Pocket knife is not defined per statute, there is no limit to length. Due to the vagueness of that statute, any restriction on folding pocket knives is nearly unenforceable. That is, in the absence of a local county or city laws. Be very mindful of your local city, as cities are well within their rights to make restrictions above and beyond that of the state.
