Do you guys know the arizona knife laws for someone 17. I have a seal pup elite and a sog powerlockl.

If you aren't doing anything wrong then you will not have any problems.

You can carry them in your pocket without waving them around. If you happen to be searched for some reason, then if they choose to add additional charges, they can be considered concealed weapons.

I would not carry in the airports, government offices, schools, etc.

AZ carry laws are pretty open and I have never had any problems since 1969 when I moved here.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, police officer, or judge. This is my own personal observation!

Ok, I live in arizona. I want to buy this nice butterfly knife online. Is it illigel to possess/carry a butterfly knife?

I dont know srry hope someone els can help. but i think arizona is pretty lax on knife laws so ive heard.

There is no specific mention of a balisong knife.

However, it could be added as a concealed weapon carry as an additional charge if you were stopped and searched for another reason and you were carrying it concealed.

If it is carried openly, it would not be illegal.

Basically, in Arizona there are no restrictions except for concealed carry. You can carry anything in the open except for government buildings and schools.

As I mentioned above, if you are not doing anything wrong, then you should not have any problems.

You can openly carry whatever you want. Concealed, things get a bit ambiguous. It's generally accepted that if you want to carry an auto or balisong, it's best to carry it openly. Same for fixed blades. FWIW, I was stopped by a cop whilst carrying my Benchmade 42MC balisong, and after looking up the law in his big book, he sent me on my way. 90% of the time I carry a balisong or an auto.

If you have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, it applies to anything, not just guns.

Well, there's nothing in the laws about double edged blades (same as there's nothing about switchblades or butteflies), there's just that ambiguous little caveat about "ordinary".

The way I see it, most any D/E knife is probably stradling the "ordinary" fence already, never mind how many edges it has. What I mean is, how many regular folding pocket knives have D/E blades? D/E blades seem 99% of the time to be on OTF autos like a Microtech Ultratech or on a fixed blade knife, which is probably best to carry unconcealed without a permit anyway, regardless of the blade type.
