Arizona Knife Laws

Hey guys. I'm planning to visit family in Arizona in a few weeks and I was wondering if any residents from AZ could tell me exactly what type of blade I am allowed to carry down there. I tried reading up on AZ knife laws but there was a lot of jargon and honestly, I was unsure of what exactly it was supposed to be saying.

Is there a specific blade length allowed in Arizona? If so, what is it? Are fixed blades off limits?

Thanks guys.

Arizona is pretty wide open when it comes to knives and guns. You can carry a 45 on your right hip, a mini sword on the other hip and walk down the street. Just don't do anything foolish that would warrant the Police to give you a closer look. Among other things you will find that automatic knives are legal to carry here as well (if anything has changed, I'm am not aware of it). Go to the Knife Shop in the malls around town and view all the Benchmade autos in the display case. Probably something about being 18 to keep the mall ninja's from cutting each other in the parking lot. Just common sense really. Have a great time, no worries.

The above comments are null & void for the criminal types - we don't need you on our streets. Only the good guys are allowed.

if you go to the knife shop, go to the one up north i think its paradise valley mall. every other store has terrible customer service with either a young punk working there or someone that thinks they know what they are talking about. had tons of problems trying to get them to take back a sog with a tigerstripe blade that developed rust within three days of ownership. that isnt a warranty issue that i should have to deal with. this is on two knives btw. same problem, same time frame.

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

Hey sorry about that. I didn't realize there was a seperate forum for Knife Laws.

Anyways, I was wondering if I could put a Cold Steel Vaquero Grande in my check-in luggage and carry it in Arizona. Does anyone know if this is okay?
