I got an answer back from one of our elected officials (I got the opinion that my question really disgusted him,) and to my amazement he states that the new law that allows unrestricted concealed carry of a firearm in Arizona does not cover a knife who's blade is longer than 3.5 inches?!?

Now I'd much rather carry a .45 than a knife, but I was hoping that the new law would cover me when my shirt rides over a 4 inch hunter that I'm fond of etc...

Anyone hear anything about a Pro-Carry Knife Group lobbying the AZ. Government on the issue? (Someone should...)

I never understood the whole idea of concealed carry of a knife. In Texas, we can carry a 5.5 inch folder or fixed blade any way we please.

Yeah it's a pain, here the Officer will ask you if you have any Guns, Knives, Nuclear Weapons etc, and if you pull one out of your pocket with a blade that's longer than 3.5 inches they usually keep it and let you go with a lecture. My Brother has had worse luck with a spring assisted knife (who's blade was under 3.5 inches.)

I'm really surprised that Texas allows a Concealed Knife!
