Jeff, I went last year and had a great time. Not sure if I'll get there again this year.

Jeff, not to get sidetracked but my Sis and my Dad was born in Benton and I was born in Forrest City ARK. I have family in Benton now.

small world.

Completely understand Jeff. I will hope to see you at the show. How long was the drive for you? Get anything good last year?

Small world indeed Tom! I take it they were born at the Saline Memorial? Make sure you let me know if you come into town for a visit my friend. Are you going to make it to the show? I know 2 years ago I can remember at least 10 tables with custom slipjoints, fixed blades are a plenty. It is certainly no small show in my opinion.

Thanks, Jeff. It was about a 5½ hour drive. That is where I picked up my Bobby Toole blue mammoth ivory single blade. Little Rock is just the right size show to see everything without killing yourself, and with super high quality.

 very nice!!!! That swedge is perfect. Really like the shield on that one, not wild but not plain, nice touch. 5.5 hours, thats a haul! I only have gun shows to compare size wise but I agree, its just right. More tables and it would get hard to take it all in properly. This year I am looking forward to the supply vendors as well, I want to start fixing up some knives and need to pick up some handle material.

Jeff, Yes My Dad and Sis were born there I was born at Forrest Memorial in St. Francis County (Forrest City)
no I wont be making the Knife Show, I would love too though. I will however be going to see some family in the coming months and I will certainly holler at you then. I also have Family in Bauxite.

Take care and have fun at the show! and don't forget some pics.

I'm just over in Memphis. It's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive. I can make a day trip of it, leave home at 7am, back by 8pm. With gas prices so low right now the round trip would only cost me about $20. Sounds like a plan, I think I'll try to make it.

I need a good road trip to clear out some mental cobwebs anyway.

I doubt that I could afford any of those expensive custom knives but it would be fun to see them and maybe meet some of you guys.

Sounds like a plan John, look forward to meeting you. I know of a few more going as well. If anyone is interested we could meet for coffee or breakfast or something on saturday before the show? Just an idea.

Hope y'all enjoy it. I am from Arkansas, born and raised, but haven't ever made the show. I'm in Germany now, but soon enough I'll be back home!

Looking at the table holders list it might be worth the eight hour drive from here, should be some mighty fine hardware available for chicken eyeing and coon fingering! I'm afraid I might have to pawn my car and hitchhike home though!

Count me in!

Looking forward to Wednesday as well

I still regret not getting by Bobby's table before that one left. I do hope you get to make it Jeff and all others.

Jeff, Todd and myself are going to meet up Wednesday evening to share a meal, swap some knife talk and I have some admission passes for them. I am looking forward to it.

I love the Arkansas Show, aside from slip joints there are always many traditional fixed blades. The show is kind of known for being a forged knife show but the gents that organize it are working hard to get many different makers making many different styles of knives there.

I look forward to meeting as many of the guys that hang out here on the porch as I can. If I can meet up with you before the show I can help you out with admission too.

Chris

Just bumping this back up for some more visibility. I'm going to make an effort to go to this. I have never been a to a knife show before. Little Rock is my kind of town, I've always enjoyed my visits there.

I did a little poking around on the Internet looking for some sort of little coffee shop or diner nearby where we could have a cup before the show, but closest thing I could find was the restaurant in the Marriott. Anybody got any ideas for a meet-up spot?
