Does anyone have a good idea what the grit equivalents of various natural Arkansa sharpening sones are? They generally come in soft, hard and the very hard black stones. I'm thinking the soft stones are around 400 or lower, the hard stones might be around 800 to 1000 and the black stones up around 2000. Anybody know for sure?

Thanks Rigolleto, that was exactly what I needed to know. I had no idea all Arkansas stones were basically of the same grit size! The harder stones are just denser not finer.
