Arkansas Stones

Im new to sharpening stones and I recently purchased a set of Arkansas stones from "Sharpening Supplies". Found the hard stone and translucent stone both have 1 or 2 very small pits in them. Is that normal in arkansas stones or do i have bad stones?

I would say that is a little common. Those can be ground out with a SiC stone, coarse then fine. With water. You'll need this stone for sharpening anyway. Depending on the size they may not need it. DM

If they don't catch your edge it isn't an issue, if they do send them back. Very labor intensive to attempt to fix them your self.
