The 10" blade of this one is of 1084. The handle is blackwood w/ 416 fittings:

Love 1084 steel and grinds look perfect! wood color is just right with the polished hardware.. Handle has nice curvature not over done-- What a classy wealthy look!
I like to see a big brother with it more of a large thicker version.. Both in a OAK wood case with RED VELVET.. WOW! Nice!

Very nice!!!

Beautiful. I've been partial to toothpicks since I was old enough to drool over one in a soldier of fortune magazine ad but too young to buy it. This one is everything my teenage mind imagined the other one was.

Love the handle too

I love it.

I also really like seeing accomplished makers using 1084 in such a impressive blade. The internet knife experts have really done 1084 a disservice by claiming it is a "Beginners Steel"

Such nice pieces of work like this go a long way in showing that it is a steel for skilled knifemakers period.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate all of the kind words.

Adam-- ;)Just because 1084 is a forgiving steel doesn't mean that it isn't an excellent one.
