I am curious...in reference to the AALB, what exactly is the armored tip?

The Light Brigade treatment allows the knife to be lightened without compromising structural integrity...right? Is the LB treatment focused on blades with a more tactical/combative mission in mind...light and fast, with no loss of strength?

The BAT was originally announced here:

BAT stands for the new Busse Armored Tip. Only available on the new handmade, sole-authorship, signature series customs.

The two new custom models that feature the BAT have three separate and different types of grinds . . . Flat, Convex, and Hollow, all combined to make for the strongest and greatest penetrating tip that we have ever tested. . . . . Both are completely hand made. . . One is Lighter, . . .Meaner. . . Shorter. . . and more Concealable than a Mean Street. . . . . The other will stand to redefine ultra-lightweight fighting Bowies for quite some time. . . . and of course both are made of the highest performance steel on the planet - INFI.

Pics are on their way,

Jerry Busse

Instead of a distal tapered blade that gets thin towards the tip, the BAT stays near full-thickness until just before the tip, with a convex blending to the edge. The makes the edge on the tip much more robust due to the major amounts of steel behind it. This is my Chicago Custom Show Badger with BAT:

You can see from the shading that the blade rounds off towards the tip rather than taper along the whole length of the blade.

Thank you for such detailed info and pic...I have a great understanding how the BAT is achieved now.
