Armox Advance for knife?

I did a search, but was unable to find information on this subject.
Have any of you attempted to make a knife (or hatchet) out of Armox Advance? Does it even make sense to use such hard material to make a knife?
I work for a company who uses the material and I thought it might be interesting to use some of the scrap to make knives (or something else interesting).

Yes.
It would do a very good material for high toughness tools, be it knives or hawks. Main benefit is extremely high pureness of this steel. Other than that - it is boron-nickel tool steel.
Nice material, very hard to get in reasonable price...
 
It might be too hard(read brittle) for a hatchet, at 58-63 rc hardness. Iirc most hatchets are a bit softer, I think 50-55 rc hardness.
For a knife blade it sounds like it would be really interesting to work with.
How thick are the scraps you have? And how are you thinking on making it, stock removal, or hammer forging? Can it be annealed?

If someone would be willing to test this (probably need to be someone in CONUS), I have access to Armox (unfortunately I don't have the skills or tools for knife making).


The scraps are 5mm thick. We currently waterjet the profiles and grind the edges. I'm not the one doing the work so I don't know how difficult it is to grind (by the way, we are only grinding edges so that the panel will fit into the desired location, not to make a knife blade).

Sounds interesting and 5mm sounds to be a decent thickness for a medium sized thrower at least.
 
I was wondering how/if it would anneal well, 58-63 is pretty hard. My preferences are for a bit of a softer spine in a knife. I bet it would make a great core for a laminated blade.

That sounds good too. I figured if someone had thought to make a tomahawk, then the hardness would be adjusted. I think a full hardness tomahawk wouldn't last long,
