I recently stumbled across an old and blurry Camillus ad that showed an "Army and Navy Air Corp Emergency Fishing Knife". It looked like a toothpick, with a sawback blade and a bail through the front bolster. I've never seen one of these - does anyone have photos, details, (even a copy of an Camillus ad that is clear)?

Thanks,

-Tyson

Post 87 in that thread.

To differentiate it from their regular fishing knife design?
Seriously, no idea.

knarfeng knarfeng Thanks! Do you know why the bail is in the front?

I'm noticing in the pic in that thread, the rear cap is marked 'HOOK REMOVER'. If they integrated that function into the rear cap, the bail might've been relocated to avoid interference with that function.

Most folding 'fish knives' are 2-blade toothpick designs and have a hook remover notch at the tip of the secondary scaler/ruler blade. So, there'd be no conflict of function in putting the bail at the cap end, as we're used to seeing on these.

My guess is due to the hook remover in the rear.
The bail would get in the way.

I kind of wish I kept my Camillus/Kent fish knife, but just wasn't using it.
