Big news I've been accepted for Army Officer Candidate School. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time. However at age 33, I thought I had let it get by me. I recently read several articles about the the Army raising enlistment ages and decided to go for it. My age waiver for OCS was aproved last week and I swore in to the DEP program on Tuesday. I ship for BCT at Benning on 01/03/07 and will attend OCS in March. My wife and two boys are nervous about the changes but are supporting me 100%. I can't wait!

Last me be the first to say congrats! What an awesome thing to do and maybe our paths will cross one day.

Have fun at Benning. Maybe go to Airborne School if you get the chance and I'll render you a salute some day at Bragg.

Congratulations and good luck. I'm sure you'll make a grand orifice...I mean officer.

Awesome. It goes to show you're never too old to follow your dream. Congratulations. It's wonderful that your family is behind you.

Being enthusiastic about one's calling is very rewarding. A bit of advice from the REAL backbone of small units, " Stay the hell away from the infantry unless you are mobile troops ."

Proud to have served .

Good luck and have fun. We just got a new officer who was 35 with 17 years in. As for Bragg, go to Richardson, it's much better......

all i can say is stay out of ft hood. it is a vacume that sucks in men and equipment. good luck brother

Thank you for your service. God bless you and good luck.

P.S.--
EMs tend to like officers who have worked their way up from the ranks. Your prior experience will help you understand your command. It's great when an officer gives an order that he himself once followed.
