Arrowhead Purpose?

Besides the obvious what is the purpose of the ESEE arrowhead? I mean out in the woods you can make arrows out of sticks, stalks or what have you.
Don't get me wrong I think they are sporty and all but I do not get it.

Pretty tough to make the actual arrow head. If you're going to go to the trouble of making arrows, why not use a ready made head. Other uses include a frog gig, spear head, fine blade, firesteel striker etc. etc. etc. You are only limited by your imagination.

A sharpened broad head works better than a pointy stick, and making one is good deal more difficult and time consuming than just having one. For me anyways.

I agree with both of you guys but for the most part you can gig, spear just a s easy and the resources are all around. I am a bow hunter and loosing an arrow is extremely easy. One misplaced shot and say good bye to that arrow.

true, but if I was in a situation where I wanted a harpoon style tip (separates from the shaft with a line to haul) I don't know how I'd do that, but it would be pretty easy with an AH1. if you were in an area with bottom feeder fish it could work well, flounder, sting-rays, catfish and the like. I had a situation a few months back where I used my izula to cut some ropes down from a campsite left by previous occupants, had I only had a larger knife it would have been tougher as the ropes were 15 feet off the ground and I couldn't find very many good long poles. in that case an AH1 would have worked better than say tying my kukri to the stick. IMHO its a piece of kit that shows you what its good for once you are presented with a situation, a very multi-use tool.

Ok. I can see that now.

I think it was intended more as a cool little thing and a sharp edge thats easy to carry, not so much as a true arrowhead.

I tried making an arrowhead once...
It can be done, that's for sure. I got a weird, chipped rock, hooked-thingie...it might have worked.

But...the reason I bought the AH-1? I ground the edges down with a dremel and used the same dremel on the inside handles of the HEST...and I got a real arrowhead inside if I ever need it.

More expensive that a broadhead, true....but it's also pretty durable and available for multiple uses.
but that's just me, and why I bought it to add to my gear.

ooohhh....they ya go. combine "pendant" with "zombie attack"

and you get something like garlic to vampires - that's IT...
Jeff and Mike have figured out how to repel Zombies...and they are sharing it with us! :)

I think these would work a lot better in a small pocket pack or Altoids tin than a single edge razor blade or a hacksaw blade . As was previous said, a lot of multiple uses.
Be safe.
