WOW-Ordered arrowheads from theknifeconnection late Thursday morning and they were in the mailbox today, didn't expect them until next week.On top of that these are great !! I see some frog sticking coming up :D

I just got a couple last week myself, these things are LETHAL!!!!

I'm going to rig them up tomorrow, I had to work today, (BOO), so I didn't have time, but I am really looking forward to messin around with these things!!

Although they look great, they are the only thing from ESEE that i can not think of a purpose for.... They would probably make a for a great spear point, then again i cant think of a use for a spear.
Seriously i'm not criticizing the AH-1, just dont see the usefulness aside "just for kicks" Please elaborate.

BOB survival gear-several other threads on this forum mention frog spears, could be used as part of a snare trap, fire striker, archery arrowhead etc. Most of us look at it as an addition to a survival kit.Granted it's not a have to have item. I didn't need an ESEE Zippo or dogtag either but-why not ? Sidebar-I'm a 64 yr old gear nut. :D

They would be great for kits. I still need to pick up a few, definitely in my next order. A couple in kits, and one from practicing with.

You can impliment the AH-1 in all sorts of spring engined traps, figure 4 deadfalls..you could use it as arrowhead( go figure) for a home made survival bow, fishing spear, you could use it to make a spear to kill squirrels or rabbits, grouse, frogs etcs.how could you not have a use for the AH-1?

I added one to a few of my Altoids tin kits as a backup blade, firesteel striker and frog gig.

Love them.

I think of these arrowheads as more of a last ditch cutting edge than anything. You can hide these on you pretty well and they will cut and also strike a ferro rod. In the real world they have very little use for anything but if I needed to hide a small, capable edge underneath my Levi's label or even fit it into the seam of the pants somewhere, along with a handcuff key, piano wire, etc. then I can think of some valuable uses in a last ditch situation. Again, no real value to me in the everyday world I live in because by pocket folder is just fine but kept on board with other gear and called upon when you need the smallest print signature available for a good tool, then they have some application.

I actually like the ferro rod application. Dear lord, now even the AH-1 has a purpose. Not good.

Thanks for 'eye-opening'

Glad to help lighten your wallet. You know deep down you just needed a reason to get some. ;)

I will add a few to my kit and buy a few more to experiment with.

Dude....a survival tennis ball.... why haven't I thought of this before? Could use it as a makeshift water collection device/filter, bounce it off bad guys heads, peel the fuzz off as a firestarter.... I'm sure the rubber bits could burn too... possibilities are endless.

just dont use a ping pong ball :D

Just picked up a few of AH-1s myself, and quickly found that the shaft fits nicely into a disassembled bic pen for an improvised sticker (a.k.a. a shank). I plan to send one out for a kydex wrapper so as not to impale myself while opening a kit, since they come from Rowen with wicked tips:eek:. These little boogers are a lot of fun to play with, and I am sure they will be useful even though I like to refer to them as novelty survival gear:p

I wouldn't mind having a slightly bigger one as well...
