The article is primarily concerned with temple sculpture from the 1st millenium AD, and so predates the appearance of Ghurkas and Kukhuris in what is now Nepal. But as most male Hindu gods are depicted bearing weapons, it gives us an idea of the kind of weapons that preceded the Kukhuri in the area. Basically, they are classical Indian weapons: the sword (khanda), the discus (chakra), the mace (gada), and the trident (trisula).
