Hello Guys! Some of you may have seen the Yataghan I had at the Blade Show this year, without handle (thank you american custons!). Well, I finally put a new handle on it, and would like to show you. The original walrus handle was made in one day, this new on ebony took me more than a week, but I found it worth the effort. I finish it to the Knife show I organize here, in Nova Petropolis, next weekend. Here's the description:
Full integral Yataghan completely forged in turkish damascus, with 23" blade and 29" overall lenght. The blade is fullered on both sides, and the collar section is hand filed. The handle high relief carved ebony, with 18K gold dots. The leather sheath is covered with ostrigh skin, and has turkish damascus integral fittings.

Thank's for looking.

Cheers!

That is just unbelievably stunning. And a great example of the beautiful use of wood on what is a museum quality piece. The carving and accent work on the ebony have provided an additional element to display your considerable skill. Excellent work Rodrigo - you are exhausting my supply of superlatives.

That's a "Master's Walk" kind of piece.....Everything about
it's extraordinary........

Wow. Can't imagine another handle- this one seems right.

How's it feel in the hand? Do you get the grins?

You never quit do you Rodrigo? That thing is just so beautiful. The knife world will be talking about this one for a long time to come. Lin

What can I add?... I am stunned at the amazing beauty of this piece and in awe of the craftsmanship to create it.

It is a delight to see each new creation from Rodrigo. Steel, knife, sheath, and now the new carving. Wonderful!

A project of unfathomable craftsmanship to my eyes, and I'd like to think I understand much of what goes into a handforged blade.

Top of the charts!

Rodrigo, that is truely amazing, sorry you lost the original handle but that one is, like everyone else said, stunning. Mark

A work of art for all others to be measured against....Beautiful.

From the carving to the long recurve there is movement everywhere. A fascinating piece, it looks alive! Awesome craftsmanship and design, congrats.
