In the new issue of Blade magazine, there is an article about having lanyard/thong holes on knives. The author, (I think it was Wayne Goddard), shows pictures of his personally owned 110 from many years ago that he drilled a lanyard hole into the rear bolster. He then goes one to say "Buck didn't start adding lanyard holes on the 110 until much later"

I didn't think Buck ever did lanyard holes on the 110 from the factory, and last year when I e-mailed and asked about having it done at the custom shop, the reply I got back was that they would not do it, it will violate your warranty, and that even though third parties do this to some 110's, Buck highly discourages it, because it can easily ruin the knife.

Did Buck ever offer 110's with a lanyard hole in the past?

TLC,

I saw that article and thought the same thing. I've never seen a 110 with a lanyard hole.

I've seen people do it, but it seemed like a good way to mess up a knife if your off by a hair!

while i would not realy disagree with any one that would say diffrent .... i do belive that buck did put lanyard holes in a few 110's and in a few 112's also.... seems that i seen one on a thumb lock....
i would not want to try it to do it as the steel for the spacer would give you much problums as hard as it is... like trying to drill a blade i would think... how about it joe got any pictures of them with the lanyard hole?
