Article from BBC about knives and aircraft

I really don't understand him not being prosecuted at least on misdemeanor charges. I think he could have protested security without actually breaking the law. I hate to say it, but if his name were Muhammad Ahmed, or Yusuf and he pulled stunt like this, he might be in Guantanomo Bay as we speak.

As with all issues I guess there will be several viewpoints all of which might be valid from their own perspectives. I like yours though. Lol. Just wanted to share the article with you guys.

I stand corrected. I just heard that the young man is being charged afterall, I had earlier today that the government wouldn't file charges and that just did not make sense to me.

They've gotta file charges. Why?

Because the next time they actually do catch a terrorist, he'll say, "Sorry. Just testing."

While I personally feel many of the rules are foolish, I am also pretty sure that the TSA is aware of its failings, its inability to catch everything. But it does catch a lot, even if much of that lot is futile, small pointy items of no real danger now that we know what the hijackings would be for.

To trick security, whether as a private citzen getting a thrill out of being so smart, or a news organization setting up a story, is not a great idea. It will only encourage others to be sure they can get away with it too. Most of them will be dumb kids who will end up in a lot of trouble. Some will be malicious, sure now that their time to triumph has arrived.

Law enforcement already routinely simulates penetration of security. Why make it harder for the TSA to protect us from the irresponsible of the world?

Sentence him to pay back the cost of countering his little exercise.
