Good article in the current KNIFE WORLD about one of the many Camillus made military knives... and one of great interest to a texas toothpick collector like myself-- The Emergency Fishing knife, as packed into Pilot's bail out kits. It's written by Frank Trzaska, so it's solidly researched (he was helped out by Tom Williams there at Camillus) and complete. I see these on ebay once in a while, the seller never knows about the military background of the knife, and I think most buyers assume it's just another 'rough black' handled, lower end fishing knife.
Many of these survived the war unissued, and were sold off, with a little slip of paper describing Camillus and their war-effort knives-- by one of the large surplus houses after the war. I have one a couple, makes interesting addtion to my toothpick, or anyone's Camillus or Military knife collection. Here's one of mine, along with a few other Camillus made fishing knives and toothpicks.
