Received one for Christmas (my wife ROCKS!)

Anything I should know beyond the little owners guide?

BTW, I LOVE this little knife. LOVE it.

The knife is not stainless, so just to be safe, you should wipe it dry after use. The coating should keep it pretty safe though. The exposed edge will need a little more care.

Any products in particular that you've had luck with in maintaining the exposed edge?

I use a Sentry Solutions Tuff Cloth to wipe down my carbon steel blades. Never had a problem with rust so far.

Great tip! Thanks!

BTW, as a quick review- I haven't owned any ESEE knives prior to this one, but have handled a few Izulas. The extra 1/2" on the handle is a nice little improvement in regards to grip and knife control IMHO.

if you use it you wont have to worry about rust. if it sits for slight periods of time oil the edge and the laser etchings.

If you're using it regularly, it really shouldn't require anything fancy. The coating is really good as far as knife coatings go, and just about any kind of oil would be more than enough to keep the edge rust free.
My girlfriend has taken mine for herself, works in a few jobs that get it wet and dirty, has never oiled it, and it hasn't shown a speck of rust over the last year or so

Awesome insight guys. Thanks. This one also came with a Gerber 'Shard' as a little bonus. It's a neat little tool for opening beers if nothing else!

get a sentry solutions marine tuf cloth! even better protection that the regular one.

Tuf-glide works well on pivots too!

and Sentry has top notch cust service, I had a pouch fail on me and the sent me a new tuf-cloth!
