as I remember... keychain Trim Trio , USA....

Found today at a Church Thrift store. Missing the lil' chain. I remember these
at our Thrifty's check out counter.... cost about then (60's) what I gave today ($1).
Folks said..."when you're older" . Made in U.S.A. . Patented. "Basset". Bet these
were a popular stocking stuffer !

What a coincidence! My wife was going through a box of old car stuff, just yesterday, and came upon one of those that her dad kept in his glove compartment.
I recall having a few of those myself, back in the day.
Very cool!

Yep, I got a few if those laying around. I have a newer version in my desk drawer at work.

Edit for pic!!

Wow, those were about the second most common pocket/keychain knife in the 1950's/60's. They were in those stand up cardboard displays up by the cash register in the five and dime stores. If they didn't have the little two blade cracked ice handle jacks that were as popular.

Ha ! I knew the age demographic in the "Traditionals" subset would remember
these...... Dad would use his to open pop bottles and we kids would save
the bottle caps for the "Bottle Cap Show" at the movie theater. (p.s. it took 10 !).
A special summer treat. (we would also beg the soda vending machine guy for
the bottle caps out of machine...remember those ? ). :D

Man! I still have these too. Once I can post some pics again I will, but I recall them being free in some motels-adVert Knives of a type. I inherited a nifty one, encased in leather, with a (still!) nice pair of nail clippers, with a small snap so they didn’t get lost. A gas or oil advertising in gold(like) leaf on the leather. Love these!
Thanks, Neal70

Don't have an original trim version but I do have a couple cheap knockoffs.
Now the Bassett TRIM clippers and tweezers I have are excellent for sure, and for some reason I like how the clippers are dated.

I just got a similar one that has a whistle instead of a nail clipper in the case. I am a tremendous fan of the Bassett Trim Trio knives. They bring back great memories of my childhood and they are relatively reasonably priced to collect. I use one, with a Powerful Pete 4 way screwdriver and a P-38 can opener, as my EDC.

Those appear to be in great condition. A little knife oil and some sharpening and you will have two good knives.
