As powerful as BFC is, Forumites deserve discounts!

Some of the gun forums I've been a member of have been able to get deals worked out with some of the shooter supply dealers or stores and web sites so that if you mentioned you were a member of that gun forum when placing an order or used a code on the web site, you'd get a discount. As huge and influential as Blade Forums is, why don't we get any discounts from at least the knife making suppliers if not also the knife sales web sites?
Kevin, is this something that's been done before or do you think you might be able to help out us Forumites?

I really don't know what to say about it. If someone wants to have discounts for forumites, that's their prerogative, I'm not going to beg people for it. We don't offer advertising for dealers or makers outside of the respective trade forums, so it's not like we can offer much in return.

If a dealer were willing to give discounts in return for advertising that fact here, it would undercut the dealers who have paying memberships, and already treat our members well.

Even if they didn't advertise the discounts here, members who patronize them would do it for them, same result. (deal-spotting)

Well, speaking only for production knives, we already have access to the best dealers with the lowest or nearly lowest prices now. I'm not sure we could do any better.
