Mike, where is the balance point when it's open?

While I like it, I must admit I'm not blown away.

Bushings are nice, but the mutli-peice screwed together construction looks like someone did a nice homemade job with a drill press and some ti barstock.

In all honesty, I liked the cleaner look in the earlier scketches, sans holes and screws.

Still, more compotition makes the market go round, so if anything, i like it for that.

Thanks Mike, nice shots, especially on the bamboo.

I've got to politely disagree with afee.......

....IMHO, the construction is what's going to set the MT bali apart from all the others. I really get a kick out of the looks of it; the micro-screw, bolted together style reminds me of the high-tech look that the early Michael Walker folders had and everyone knows how that style caught on! If they're anything like all the other 'stuff' from Tony, I know it's going to be GOOD!

Im not so sure if I like it or not. it IS radical and it definitely looks MT (to me) Ive never really been a fan of flatsiders. The price is out of my range...especially since I or my girlfriend arent blown away by it without handling it. (she says it looks weird and she doesnt like the "dark grey handles"

Oh well, one I handle one I might just have to find $200

I love it! It's about time SOMEONE stepped away from the traditional. Don't get me wrong, I love skeleton handles. I plan on owning many more of the "standard style". But this Tachyon is just far out. If I like my first one as much as I think I will, I'll definately get another. Plus I really like latchless, but only half the time. I've been waiting for this knife for years!

By the way, I think it looks pretty freakin' rad.

I like the new thinking that went into the design of the Tachyon. A subtle feature is the use of weight reducing cutouts only on the front part of the handle which, as a result, creates a weighted handle butt--this should enhance the centrifugal force effect when doing maneuvers. However, I do have concerns about the larger triangular cutout nearer to the butt end of the handle--it could allow things to get caught up in it and/or it could compromise the strength of the handle. The Microtech touch on this balisong is evident--just add the "dagger" or "claw" logo and send me one already.

Any new word on the nemesis-bladed run? Its already a gorgeous knife, the double-edged blade would be incredible, taking it to the next level.

Do we have a confirmed price point yet? Sorry if this has been asked before.

toothed: actually, just as an FYI, the handle design enhances the 'rotational moment of inertia' of the handles.

The more I see it, it starts to get better. I didn't like it much earlier. It would be better with shiny handle that looks good during manipulation ..

In any case, the departure from traditional style is indeed a worthwhile trial! Keep it up !

Excellent, thanx for posting this! I take it this is the $199.99 from the ad? I know these are destined to be a success, but I'll do my part by preordering one.
