Has anyone here actually made a direct purchase on TV that they were happy with?

As we all know, we're constantly (for those of us who watch the tube) bombarded with messages to buy this, that, and everything else to make us stronger, healthier, wiser, wealthier, more beautiful, faster, cook more delicious meals in half the time.

I've made my share of purchases direct from the tv set, but with a few exceptions of buys from Time-Life for CDs and books, I feel that the majority of what I've bought from the TV were over priced and over hyped.

So, I'm curious, if anyone has made a direct buy over the tv that they actually liked? It can by anything as long as it was something available only on TV.

Ron Popeil did not become a very rich man because direct TV sales don't work.

And the Home Shopping Channel is not a charity providing a public service by filling up a cable channel that would otherwise go tragically unused.

Television is a self-inflicted brain injury. Those who watch it are the rightful prey of those who sell through it.

My wife bought the h2o mop and h2o cleaner for 99$, thane made a shipping mistake and sent us 2.. so yea it was worth it and also it does an amazing job on hardwood, ceramic without using any soap. We must of of bought it around october of 2007.

Yesterday I saw it at walmart and it was on sale for the same price of 99.00$ however the h2o cleaner was not included.

So this was one purchase that was worth it.

The second item was purchased a while back by my father-n-law, it's the Q-Ray bracelet, I don't know the whole science behind it but it's suppose to work wonders. He still buys a new one every so often.:D:D

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

Theres a store called "As Seen On TV" in the mall here. If its pedaled on TV infomercials, they have it.

I've never bought anything there but if something piqued my interest, I could at least go to the store and see it for myself before buying. Also cuts the S&H out as well as the wait time.

No antenna, cable, satellite, etc. for me either. My dad does have a rotisserie cooker and my mom once bought a Euro-Sealer, though. They both work pretty good. :D

I've always enjoyed infomercials, but have somehow resisted the urge to buy what they are shilling.

The popiel pasta maker is particularly entertaining, as was the snackmaster, and anything with George Foreman in it - "KNOCK OUT DA FAT!!"

My wife buys a lot of jewelry from QVC. As these places go, this one seems to be well-run, efficient, and provide a decent value for the money.
As little as I know about jewelry, the stuff she gets seems well-made, of good quality, and very attractive.
Prices are generally lower than you'd pay for the equivalent at a mall store...

We bought the "Bullet" from an infomercial. Its just a little blender but its very convenient. You can blend your smoothie right in the cup you drink from and toss in the dishwasher. Way more expensive than its probably worth, but it works.

My wife has bought a couple of different steamer type cleaners and both work very well.

And I've almost succumbed more than once to the "miracle blade" and Frost Cutlery informercials. Who wouldn't want 30 knives for 50 bucks :o (My sister bought a Ginsu Knife years ago and it works just fine. There's lots of threads about these type of knife. Thin blade aggressive serrations-tears up the food rather than slices it bought it works)

Can't say I ever have---never had any interest in what they're selling.

They don't sell guns---I don't buy junk knives---I can buy a mop at Walmart.

Mostly buy quality stuff---that lasts a long long time.

I bought "Patch Perfect " to fill in some lawn spots & it was an expen$ive joke . It failed to germinate & when I complained they told me to wait 3 weeks & it would come out as advertised.

Never happen.Gi ! I called again & got smoke & mirrors. Finally I went to google [?] & found they were under suspicion of fraud.

Called Visa & said I wanted my money back & asked for help .Meanwhile the crooks wanted photos & a statement from a landscape company . Did that & sent copies to both companies. Crooks wanted another pro evaluation & more pictures . Did that.

Honestly, when that stuff finally sprouted it was thinner than the hairs on my hand.

After 6 or 7 weeks Visa credited me with $ 117.00 . lesson learned, case closed.

I bought a nice necklace for my girlfriend a few years ago (online though and not through an infomercial) and it's very nice and well made and she liked it a lot. I did pay my money's worth for it though and not one of those "only 19.99" pieces of junk.
