I was going to wait and post this after it came back from CRK's for a spa treatment, but waiting is such a hard thing to do. I have sent pictures to CRK's and talked to Heather. She said the groves were done by CRK's but has not other information. It came with everything. The BC date is 2/11/98. The scales are dated D97 and
A98. It has the look of LDC-9's but not exactly. I can not find the exact dates when the LDC's were made. I am still looking for dates and would love it if someone knows the answer. Of course I want Anne to let me know that this was a pratice LDC that Chris did it himself and he only made one! LOL So my fellow CR nuts any thoughts?

Hmmm... I have been wondering about that particular Sebenza for months, I haven't been able to find any information about it anywhere.. I look forward to hearing what you are able to find out about it.
All the best, Dave

It took me a while to work the deal (the original price was way off). I am not sure what it was but something just keep me looking at it. I will let you know what I find out.

Make it a great day,
Bill

Same here Bill, it's definitely a very interesting Sebenza to say the least! My thoughts on it and this is just conjecture on my part was that the milled groves in the handles look like it should have the wood inlays.. but then the extra hole in the handle is similar to that found on the LCD. But then you have the blue anodizing??
The one thing I didn't like was the serrated blade but that's just a personal preference thing and in no way detracts from the knife. All in all I have to say Great Catch Brother!!
Can't wait to see what you find out from CRK!
All the best, Dave

I thought that at first but the LDC have 4 groves on the front and 2 on the back this has 3 and 1. I did find a post for 2008 where Anne said the extra hole was to reduce weight. I guess every little bit counts. :-)

It is gorgeous for sure. Maybe over run of LDC scales?

Could, i repeat could, be an exercise hand made from Chris Reeve to test some design to make it lighter still having nice style.
We know that, if not always at least in the beginning, Chris made a lot of knife by himself.

Only my 5 cent.

Oh I could only hope that this was true. Would be so nice but somehow I do not think so......but.....

It definitely looks to be modded after the LDC Sebenza's. The clip is not right for the card date either, could of been switched out. Definitely a cool looking Sebenza. You could contact Les Robertson for more info regarding the LDC's they were made for him.

Thanks for that suggestion. Exactly why I came here for help.

I asked Les about a year ago if he would do another run, most definitely will not happen. Little bit of a falling out between the two.

Outstanding catch, congrats.
I would've liked to get that one myself, I love the LDC's and this is just as sweet.

I couldn't give a monkeys about the facts and theories :p.....that is a splendid Regular Sebenza. Congrats indeed.:thumbup:
