Depends on how much chopping you plan to do and how tolerant you are to weight on your belt or in your pack.
If you are going to do a lot of chopping/machete work go with the DF LE and pick up a small knife to go with it.
The ASH1 can be a one knife solution and you can get it in three flavors: (1) CG is heavy and will chop better, (2) LE is in the middle and my favorite of the three, and (3) Skinny is best if weight is a consideration but you give up some chopping power.
Thats the thing i got 300 dollars MAX so i wouldn't be getting a sheath with the ASH1 unless someone sold me something cheap for like 10 bucks i'm not talking Kydex or Amrorall or whatever, i mean CHEAP.
DF LE can be had under 300, probably could fine a used ASH for under 300 if you look. I have both, they are completley different with different steels and handle material and are for different tasks.
I'd say the dog father, just because you could get the dog father for 190, and then get another smaller to midsized scrap yard for 110$. you'd just have to look around for a while.
