ASH-1 SE Spine Shot of Scales, please?

Hey, y'all. Searched and searched the forum and the net to find good ASH-1 SE pics, and more specifically a spine shot, and even more specifically one showing the handle/scales spine on.

No luck at all. All the pics I could find here are older photobucket pics, and you know those are no longer good.

So, sorry to trouble, but could anyone help me out? I am trying to figure out the thickness of the handle with those old Standards.

I don't have an SE (shock horror) what thickness was the blade ? I have a couple of .32s wearing standard (not magnums that are most common) grips as the SE did. Taking one away bush with me tomorrow in fact.

. . . one could knock me over with a feather right about now. I am in utter disbelief, Andy.

I thought about just asking you, but did not want to bother. Thanks for the reply, nonetheless.

All mine have Magnums - modified by me or not, shop hand-shaped or scaled. I had a 3B2, which of course has flat, smooth scales, but I am not sure they are the same thickness as the SE's Standards.
I believe the SE is .22, but I may be corrected.
Sometime, if convenient, I would indeed like a spine shot of the handle end despite it being on a .32. It would still really help a lot, Andy. But no hurry. And thanks!

Its no problem mate, I will snap one when I am packing or unpacking tomorrow. Only working a half day then a five hour drive up the bush.
 
Well, Ken - the “Other ASH1 Fellow” does have one. A 2007, with Green G10’s. Problem is I’m in the middle of a home remodel. I moved some of my Bussekin. I just did a quick search where I thought it might be. Fruitless.

If I run into it during this current home disruption, I’ll shoot you a spine shot. Hopefully, someone else can supply what you need. Be well...T

I'll be able to get you a picture of my (one day yours) SE tomorrow morning. I would have gotten it sooner but it's been hectic. Birthday was Tuesday and waves were epic yesterday so I was doing my waterman thing. I might have drowned if I had an ASH1 on me out there yesterday. :D

I did have my Battle Saw, SAR4, Original Convexed RMD INFI, and Max Warden in the truck but the ASH1s are safe at the shop. :cool::thumbsup:

Like I told Andy, I hesitated to ask anyone directly, though I thought of hitting ya' up, of course, given that you have the SE I want! (oh, no, I have not forgotten you and her (or that sweet CS FFG SFNO Blk Micarta/Tan Micarta G-Rex, either!) Things are looking up in the near future so I will be in touch reasonably soon to try to relocate one - or hopefully both! - to the desert! (Thanks so much for being a such a sport and not being in a hurry, man. More than I could ask for.)

A pic or two would be really cool, brother. Thanks in advance.

Oh, right. The other thing . . . .

As you saw, and no doubt to your life-threatening shock, Andy has not a single SE . . . Right???!!! (I would throw in an emoji, but how could it possibly even begin to capture the awe and disbelief, or add to the naturally induced shock?)

I expect he saw your post now and will be making you an offer you cannot refuse. It is imperative that you resist the Dark Side. He simply must not be allowed to corner the ASH-1 market. Lawd knows what his evil plans be. You will recall he has been asked, time and again, and the answers are enigmatic, so I fear the worst can be expected. His game is long. And dark. Tuica has shown the way of balance in the force created by all living ASH users. But not all other ASH must reside in his hands in order to bring balance. My contributions, and yours, are essential as well.

Wow! Thanks a ton, David. Those are some great shots, and what a lineup of the elusive three = LE, SE, and the HOG. Very cool set there.

That is a great help, too. Those scales on the SE are fantastic.
 
Just out of the bush, as I was leaving I saw Big Dave had given you a better image than I could :D My .32 with standard slabs was my companion for the loooong weekend though !
 
I have a BGASH and the handles are ULTRA FAT. I’m talking thicker than Yokozuna’s ass.

The scales have red liners underneath, but it’s not just the liners - the scales are thicker. It’s almost like holding something completely round. Don’t know what’s up with it, but it’s comfy enough I guess.
