ASH-1 Snake

Has anyone noticed that the Snakeskin scales are not offered for the ASH-1?

Is this the end of the Snakeskin? Busse Combat states that once the supply is gone, it is gone.

From Busse Combat regarding the Snakeskin:
"The Elusive Snakeskin

The Snakeskin micarta handles were discovered accidentally and cannot be duplicated. Not only have we tried to duplicate this unusual layered look with several different manufacturers who claimed that duplication would not be a problem, but several other knife manufacturers have tried quite unsuccessfully to duplicate it as well. Once our supply is used up, the Busse Combat original Snake Skin micarta will not be an available again."
 
One of the customs at Knob Creek had snakeskin nukarta. But you are right, it wasn't offered as an option this time.
 
Yep. And sadly, with that thick handle, std snake would feel pretty good.

OTOH, it'll save me from buying YET A FOURTH KNIFE off this one, so I'm sorta glad. ;)
 
I just checked the specs on the Special Hog ASH-1 and it has Tiger Hide grips. Snake skin scales sure are purdy. I hate to seem them gone it that is the case.
 
There's been less and less of it as I've been watching the Busses. It used to come standard on a lot of LE's. Now, tiger hide seems to be the standard.
 
I asked if it was possible to have one of my ASH-1 LE's done in snake, when I ordered them. The answer was no. Shame that; my first Busse came with snake and it's been my favourite ever since.
 
I've got quite a snake collection going. I wonder if some special ASH1's will come out with it.
 
At one point, snakeskin was the dominant pattern in my collection. Now, however, I have released all of my snakeskin back into the trough.

Ya, snake used to be my all time fav, but now I have to admit that Tiger has replaced it in that regard. Don't get me wrong....I have no plans of getting rid of the Busses that have Snake skin slabs!

Sadly that was my ASHE1 handle choice as well.

We have replaced the snakeskin with Scarlett and Gray....or in your case Maize and Blue....LOL Just kidding Gator;)...

Pumpkin and blue would work for this old Gator!

Scarlett and Gray?

Isn't Maize (yellow) and blue LSU colors?
