Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone knows of an Ash 2 sheath in the works? I'd like to get mine preordered while my Ash 2 is in the works.

Thanks,
Chris

Tough to do when no one has a blade to pattern from. I do believe there will be a good number of both kydex and leather sheaths available just after the blade is out.

Best I can guess, the kydex benders and leather craftsmen would have to get their hands on one before they can offer sheaths; since the Ash2 is totally new, no one will have it for a while... unless, of course, advanced prototypes or first runs where provides to the sheath makers early. Again--that's my guess.

I have worked with enough of them to know which of our sheath models we will offer for the ASH-2 and have put them on pre order at the site.

This man is my go-to for leather sheaths. 100% great guy to do business with.

Thanks for the info guys,

I was really hoping this wouldn't be the case. Guess I'll just have to be patient. I am dying to put the Ash 2 through its paces. I have a nice 10 mile hike in mind for his welcome home party. :)

Thanks for the option Skystorm,

I have to be honest, I usually steer clear of leather sheaths. I am from Florida, and I hike. I hike through unexplored woods with no beaten path and Florida brush can be vicious on leather. I've always went to Kydex for this reason. Any input on that thinking?

The big ASH-WHACKER is basically the same size as the ASH-2, so that's what I am using for a model making my sheath.:thumbup:

I believe when many people think of a leather sheath what usually comes to mind is the cheap floppy mexico/chinese made sheaths that come with many knives these days. You can club a grizzly bear to death with one of mine. Sure you can scratch them up dragging through brush, crawling on rocks but that just adds character to the sheath and memories for you. There are pro's and con's to both leather and kydex which is why I usually have one of each for my users depending on what conditions I plan on taking them in.

Good, quality leather is rugged - there's a reason that it was used for a thousand years for just about everything. That being said, I don't have any Kydex (yet) to base a comparison off of.
